Acne Scar Treatments at Chester Laser Clinic

Acne is a disorder of the skin's sebaceous glands that affects over 80% of the population aged 14-30. Although commonly considered to be an adolescence problem, 25% of the people affected by acne in their teens will go on to develop permanent scars. The effects on personal appearance caused by acne and the resultant scarring can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems if left untreated. Acne can be effectively treated with Intense Pulsed Light alone or in combination with other clinical treatments. Intense Pulsed (IPL) Light treatments greatly reduce the number and severity of active lesions, lessening the inflammation and frequency of break-outs.

Preventing Acne & Acne Scarring

At Chester Laser Clinic we offer combination treatment and skincare plans to treat and control acne. So you can carry on your treatment at home or while you are away. To reduce acne break out try:

  • Avoiding over-drying affected areas, as this will lead to further overproduction of oil

  • Avoiding heavy makeup which can clog pores further and choose mineral make-up instead

  • Use skincare plans formulated for acne-prone skin

  • Don’t squeeze or pop spots at home, this causes scarring

  • Remove makeup before bed
